BOISE– One man is in jail after police say he tried to take pictures under women’s skirts on Sunday.
Mario Esquivel-Jimenez, 40, is charged with video voyeurism, a felony.

At least two women confronted him, and then got store managers involved.

Jimenez was detained until Boise Police arrived and arrested him.
“It’s a felony,” said Lieutenant Steve Myers with Boise Police. “It’s a fairly new law on the books that was created to meet the needs of an ever-changing technology in society. So, we do use it quite a bit. It’s just one of those things that happen as times change. People take advantage of cell phones, to capture video that they should not be.”
Jimenez will likely be arraigned Monday in Ada County Court.

Security detained the man until police arrived.
Esquivel-Jimenez will not be allowed to own a camera or camera phone during his probation.
