Toronto Upskirt One Arrested One on the Run
TORONTO – Arnon Weinberg a Thornhill web site designer was allegedly caught videotaping under women’s skirts by suspicious security personnel at Eaton Center security.
Following the Thursday arrest, recordings of six women were found in a camera concealed in a laptop computer shoulder bag, police said.
Det. Chris Trites, of 52 Division, said an Eaton Center security guard spotted a man acting suspiciously on Wednesday but lost him in the crowd.
He spotted the suspect again on Thursday and was able to keep track of him until police arrived.
“A bright young guy who was paying attention,” Trites said, heaping praise on the mall guard. “He’s instrumental in catching this guy… The first day, he lost him. The second day, he picked him up again just by pure luck, and being vigilant, was able to follow him again and contact the police.”

Trites said the camera was positioned by the partially-opened zipper of the laptop bag allowing the man to aim the camera.
“It’s hard to imagine” people think of things like that, he said.
Trites said a search of the camera showed six victims, most filmed in the Eaton Center, Dundas subway station, and some in the TTC.
Detectives are deciding whether to search the suspect’s home or workplace, he said.
“We’re just trying to decide on the best course of action,” Trites said.
A Google search of the suspect links him to a Thornhill company called Back2Front.
Arnon Weinberg, 35, of Westmount Blvd., Thornhill, is charged with voyeurism.
Meanwhile, Toronto Police are also on the alert for a Mexican national illegally in the country who was caught July 7 allegedly taping under women’s skirts as they ascended stairs at the Dundas St. subway station.
The two incidents are not believed related.

“He just held it in his hand and aimed it in the direction that he wanted,” Trites said. “He was observed, obviously, and tackled by patrons of the TTC.
“We have no idea where this gentleman is,” Trites said.
Lopez has been illegally in Canada since 2003, police said.
He said the man was able to convince his captors to release him in return for his camera and identification, which has since been verified by Mexican authorities.
